Art is communication, evocation and the building blocks of our culture, vanishing into the background and informing our unconscious when perfected. Every designer should strive to practice artistic methods outside their comfort zone as well as those in which they may be formally trained because understanding why a customer reacts to the humble billboard or a simple piece of packaging the way they do has origins in traditional art. Art, and by extension design, is the principle language of our society - symbols of intuition saturating every moment of our lives.
